My son clicked on the deer hes been hunting first of the week. No shell in the chamber. He cried when he got home. I cant exactly explain the feelings i had but i didnt like it at all. It is an awful awful situation that someone who doesnt deer hunt could never understand.

Been a while - but it feels powerfully bad and for me it stung for while - awful feeling - but it happens

It’s why I practice shooting now

I was hunting the other afternoon and missed a good one chasing a doe. The next morning, I killed him in the same hollow at 7:05. If you have a hot doe running around that area, it might not be your last chance at him. Good luck.

I think he will be back. Funny thing, he was alone.

Worst case, he breeds some does and we continue the line.

The next morning , he was by himself. He was up cruising and looking for her or another one. I hope you get another chance at him.

Its sucks. But I would rather completely miss than injure 1 and not find him.

I’d rather miss em completely then pull a bad shot. I hate when I do that and it makes me sick to my stomach when it happens.

I still think about a miss from 8 years ago. Time hasn’t healed this wound.

It’s a bad feeling. Only thing worst (in deer hunting) is picking a stand for you and your daughter, then changing your mind. Then a member goes to that stand and kills a 150’s deer. I about threw up

That dude has some great brows - go back - u May get him

Best deer I ever shot at was on a creek crossing - perfect - semetrical - at least 10 - I think more - trigger pull felt so perfect- deers reaction was not hit - gone in few seconds - I had stood up to stretch my legs at 9:15 n a ladder stand - it was actually 2 monsters that jumped out on creek bank - twins - I just leaned against the tree and shot - the shooting path had not been cleared for standing shots - hit a limb

25 years ago the day before thanksgiving it don’t really sting bad anymore - but occasionally still miffed by it like now 😀 they looked like your picture w more tines - I am sure their brows were not as good

It does hurt, my condolences. Go back again, it helps.
