Who on here raises and sells cattle. I’m trying to wrap my head around the methane tax in this bill. It would create a $6500 per cow methane tax $2500 per hog. Y’all think beef is high now! This would pretty much put every livestock grower out of business OVERNIGHT.

Cows and hogs aren’t even worth that much total. That’s silly.

My grandad is getting out of it...sold half the herd in July and was gonna sell the other half in October but waiting on an uptick...I was gonna keep 5 registered ones, I sold the 3 bull calves from those last week but if this is true then I'll sell the momma n heifers too...

You want to see riots let pig go to $10-15 a pound and see what their base does.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Rumors were $2600 for “beef” cattle, $6500 for dairy cows, $500 hogs.. but I don’t think there is any truth to it.
I’d had to pay nearly $200k can you imagine how many redneck cowboys out there “here” would loose their koo?
I ain’t made a dime on cows and I’m on year 5 but

You don’t want to get on that subject, if all those yuppies out their seen the way those chickens look without the “Antibiotics and probiotics” they don’t want them to have, I’d bet they wouldn’t be eatin chicken very often

I've never bought or sold a cow in my life but aren't they typically $2,000-3,000 per cow?

My brothers boss bought a heifer for $20k bred it o his bull sold for $40k all in the breeding and registration. That’s way outa my league. Big time money men trading money among themselves is what it boils down to..

Snopes, for what it's worth says $2600 for cows and $500 for swine

edit: $6500 dairy cows, 2600 cattle, and 500 swine, found an article with more detail

EDIT: the methane tax is not on livestock, just oil & gas
