Saved my life i reckon. Thirteen years ago tomorrow was the last time i got high. He was about a year old and i had really struggled with my lifestyle and choices since he was born. I was on a bad road. Lucky to even be alive. Just wasnt set up for that kind of life after he was born. Was having a real hard time getting it straight. I didnt care a whole lot about myself but i loved this one something fierce. He was the one thing that made me want to do better. As far as my part of it went, i could have crashed and burned and it would have been ok. I see parents all messed up on drugs or alcoholics who have just turned their backs on their kids and i just cant understand it. How can they not want to do better for their kids? Do they not understand how badly their kids need a mama and a daddy? If their own children arent motivation enough to get clean, what will do it? For a year or so, when he was a baby, i was in a real struggle in my life, good vs evil. I thank God he gave me a chance to be this boys daddy. I thank God every day my son isnt like i was when i was 14yo. Hes a much better boy than i ever was. Hes going through battles of his own, fighting his own evil, but as far as i can tell, hes holding his own. I would lay down my life for this one, and in a sense i did. Hes growing up. With the world being the way it is, the only way i can sleep at night, knowing him and his sister are going to have to face these things, is having an understanding of just how good God is and what hes able to do.

Congrats. I have two old friends both brothers that haven’t seen the light you did. Grandma and grandpa raising all their grand kids. Really is sad.

Yeah. I guess i stunted my growth when i was young or he got ahold of some recessive genes or something.

Great testimony , think of all the people in the Bible that God used when he got their attention , none of us are perfect or without struggles . All we have to do is be willing to serve and he takes care of the rest . Good luck to Cleveland in the playoffs . Very nice turn around sir. We each have our own evils with deal with on a daily if not moment to moment basis, it is a struggle constantly. You are doing a good job keeping yours at bay.
