Maybe I’m wrong but a musician can play multiple instruments, sing and produce. In the last 10 years the only ones I can think of right now doing that is Dave Grohl and Sturgill Simpson

He's always been one of those musicians that are famous for just being good musicians. He's played alongside a lot of great guitarists from the 60's, 70's, etc. but he doesn't have any original material that paved the way for him.
