I know guy that his family is connected musically and friends with Elvis’s guitarist. They were at rock and roll hall of fame induction of a local musician and were all sitting at table with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page if I recall correctly. Those two were enthralled with Elvis guitarist and being influential to them. Found that interesting. Brian said it was humbling watching those being in awe of their friend.

I watched a heavy metal show on VH1 where all the metal heads were saying they were influenced by classical music. How classical correlated to metal and so forth. Bach, Beethoven and Mozart were like the metal heads of the day. About a 3 he special. Googled trying to find it but can’t now. I saw it about 10 years ago.

LS is connected locally and I liked listening to them. Gary Rossington used to hang at court Street Cafe in Florence back in the late 80s when he had the Rossington Band. Seemed nice and so forth but watched an interview with him about the crash. Dude still has nightmares everyday he says. You can tell the lifestyle really has taken its toll.

Never liked the beatles. Just because a group was popular doesn't mean that they were good, or even that they didn't suck.

Been hearing their schitty music my whole life, and still change the channel every time one of their whiny songs comes on.

Never was an elvis fan either. If Chuck Berry had been white, the music industry would have never paid attention to elvis.

That was an entertaining 4 pages

And yes the Beatles were the most influential band of all time. Not the best though

Really hard to say just who the best was. Too many variations of rock. The Beatles were not rock anymore than Elvis was and neither was rock in any sense of the imagination. But some of their songs became classics by true rock bands.

But strictly rock album

Whoever said Led Zeppelin II was probably as right as you’ll get.

Filler. That may the single most absurd comment that I’ve heard on this forum. The songs that don’t get played to death are the best. Good grief man.

To be clear, are you saying you like Chuck Berry's music, but don't like any Beatles' songs? Am I understanding you correctly?

I can’t believe there are so many people that actually think LS was better than the Beatles or is a top 10 band. I like them, own their albums and seen them back in the 90’s. But they can’t hold the Beatles jockstrap. Like or dislike them they were probably the best. Get past the earlier stuff and Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, White album etc are just incredible. No bad songs.

The Beatles/Stones/ Led are the holy trinity of rock.

And the greatest lyric/line….. “she blew my nose then she blew my mind”

Netflix special on LS is a good one if you haven’t seen it..Never could listen to the Beatles

I was going to post the same thing. I like LS but am not a rabid fan. The documentary was excellent.

Gomer, watch the Netflix show and you'll find out where those lyrics came from.

to be fair, I'm as "Bammer" as it gets, and I can't stand it anymore either.......I remember the moment it happened, too. I was sitting in the turn lane on Hackberry @ 15th St one day after class, and SHA was on a country station, so I changed it to a diff country station but it was on there too. So I switched to a classic rock station and they were playing it, so I switched to the "classic country" station and you guessed it....they were playing it.

4 stations in Tuscaloosa playing the same damn song at the same time. It was like a switch in my head flipped and I've loathed that song ever since...and that's been 16-17yrs...
