So I am going to give scents a fair go this year. How many of yall use them early in the season? If so, what do you like to use?

I rarely use any scent except cover scent on my boots. I never use any other scent in early season.

Tinks 69 and Golden Esterous mixed around rut time....less and less each year. I find that any rut scent will spook does away, and LIVE bait beats any scent attractor any time, anywhere.......

I use scent killer on my boots & pant legs and try to set up with the wind in my favor.

I used scents one time in my life. They spooked more than they helped.

I just hunt food early. It's better than any scent anyway. That time of year their stomach drives their decisions.

The only scent that I can say I've seen a deer react to is James Valley Scents Estrous Doe or Scrap e scent. I have used this and actually seen a buck come off a doe and come to the scent during the rut. All I've ever used for cover scent is dirt scent...and cigarette smoke! LOL! :p

I might use a little cover scent on occasion in an effort not to spook every deer in the woods. I can't say that it works though. If I forget, I don't care.

As far as attractant, it is a waste of money IMO. If the deer I am hunting get downwind of me to smell the attractant, I chose my stand location poorly. Bottom line.

Plus the scent attractants are so strong smelling, it can't smell natural to a deer. As sensitive as their noses are they probably get high and pass out after smelling some of the products out there.

I think Ruff and Tuff in Chelsea also carries it.

Buy the bottle with a red dot on it if you can find it. The guy who makes it marks all of the bottles that come off the bottom of the barrel and is more concentrated.

I tried it, but it did nothing for me. I'm in a new club now so maybe these deer will like it. confused
