So I am going to give scents a fair go this year. How many of yall use them early in the season? If so, what do you like to use?

I rarely use any scent except cover scent on my boots. I never use any other scent in early season.
Tinks 69 and Golden Esterous mixed around rut time....less and less each year. I find that any rut scent will spook does away, and LIVE bait beats any scent attractor any time, anywhere.......

I use scent killer on my boots & pant legs and try to set up with the wind in my favor.

DeadDownWind as cover ,Pure Vanilla as attractant.

I used scents one time in my life. They spooked more than they helped.
I just hunt food early. It's better than any scent anyway. That time of year their stomach drives their decisions.

The only scent that I can say I've seen a deer react to is James Valley Scents Estrous Doe or Scrap e scent. I have used this and actually seen a buck come off a doe and come to the scent during the rut. All I've ever used for cover scent is dirt scent...and cigarette smoke! LOL! :p

I think Ruff and Tuff in Chelsea also carries it. Buy the bottle with a red dot on it if you can find it. The guy who makes it marks all of the bottles that come off the bottom of the barrel and is more concentrated. I tried it, but it did nothing for me. I'm in a new club now so maybe these deer will like it.
