Here’s what I do. I drill mine. I planted Tuesday. I let it get a stand then run my buggy across it maybe 3-4 weeks later. I know I have residual plant breaking down from last years stubble to get me started. I like to shoot for Oct 10 or so if a rain is in forecast. It is fine laying on top of no till stubble
