Has anyone heard any rumors about when the corn will get cut on swan creek? I've been out hunting twice but there's not hardly any birds flying right now. I dont think I'll bother going back until its cut.

Most of the corn in Limestone, Morgan and Lawrence counties was planted about 3 weeks later than normal due to a wet spring. They were cutting on 31 after dark last night less than 2 miles from Swan Creek but we got some rain last night and today. I've seen only one other field cut. Another factor seems to be all the rain we had this summer. Usually corn is dried down and headed to the silo or the elevator by the last week of August but some of it still has a few yellowing green leaves. I think that last tropical storms moved a lot of birds and there haven't been many move in since. I know that's not what you want to hear and didn't answer your question.

Correct. There’s hardly any birds in N AL at al. We’re 75% harvested on corn and what birds are here are scattered.

Exactly our situation in Jackson county. Great opening day decent 2nd day. Poor last weekend with about 1/2 my corn picked. Moisture level still a little high on the rest. Fantastic yields which I will take any year over being done picking by mid September. Good news it the corn I’ve planted for ducks and deer on the 4th of July looks great which is almost impossible feat planted that late. Just a wet year all around. This would have been the year to have a big wheat crop and made a big late bean yield too.
