7-9% when using index funds is what I plan on seeing over the next 30 years. For most, the biggest future unknowns will be taxes & the cost of health care. Does your crystal ball tell you what effect Socialism and Collectivism will have on the markets?

Probably not much since almost all the Publicly traded companies, both big and small, are all fully bought in on it, but when your personal 401K, IRA, Pension, and Investment and Savings accounts, are all seized for the "collective good", it probably won't do much to help your personal net worth. Y’all must be counting on this blank check the democrats have been writing want ever be cashed It ain’t just Democrats! They all been writing blank checks, so either get on board with some compound interest over 30 years or put your money in a jar in the back yard. I’ll risk the blank check, cause the people writing the blank checks don’t put their money in jars.
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

You are correct but it is mathematically impossible for things to keep going. I ain’t pulled out yet but I have dang Shure thought about it. Some folks that are already retired ain’t got a long time frame to ride it out Yeah, I’m only 47, if I was closer to 60 I might have a different view

I was talking before a meeting at work yesterday about a mandatory 10% tax on all 401K within the next 4 years.

Looking at history u should be able to get 5-8 pretty easy...all u can do is invest and prepare for the worst...when I say prepare I mean anything self sufficient related purchases need to be prioritized over retirement at this point in time....it's a different world and changing rapidly
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Ben Franklin

Sure has gone flat since January.... wondering what changed. Dow is up 15% YTD S&P 18% NASDAQ 16.5% Yeah, but last year it was 50%. I thought it was supposed to double every 2 years! Those returns this year are truly phenomenal.
