I’d go for one with a green filter option

Don't blame me for your bad decision-

I've got a Black Diamond one that my cousin gave me for Christmas...think it was about $40-50. Does regular light as well as red, green or blue.........can brighten/dim all of them (including a blindingly-bright setting) and you can also strobe them. Waterproof and has a "memory" function, meaning whatever color/brightness/mode it's in when you turn it off, it's in the same mode when you cut it back on.

He used his specifically for Corps OCS/TBS and said it stood up to plenty of abuse.

Whatever you choose, make sure it has a RED option. The red is less likely to spook game, but more importantly, red light doesn't screw with your eyes' natural "night vision". With white light, even on a dim setting, when you turn it off it can take several minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark...sometimes as much as 20-30 if you're using a bright light. With the red light, it doesn't affect your eyes so when you turn it off, they adjust to the dark pretty much instantly.

Princeton Tec the Fred.

Inexpensive, and has a great red light.

Give it a couple of weeks and home depot will have their Christmas stuff out. Pick up a 2 pack of them for $9.99.

I’ve been using a Petzl Actik Core and I’ve been very pleased with it.

Res is great but I like green better. All military aircraft flying on NVGs run green lighting to save night vision. Some cargo compartments have blue. I’ve been using green for 20 years at least. Just my preference.

I've used a streamlight trident for the last few years. Fairly inexpensive and it's got a nice bright green light for slipping into the woods as well as a good white flood light and really bright white spot light.

I've been using, and abusing, a Streamlight Pro Tac USB for 3 years. Still on the original rechargeable battery. It's over 1000 lumens on high, but the buttons cycle through Hi, Med, and Low.

Energizer works good for the money...my boys will lose a flashlight in a hurry so I ain't spending much on em anymore until they get older
