Just got back from looking at a few of mine. We planted early (mid May), and they are waist high and thick. I've never seen waist high chufas and I've been growing them about 20 years, you might want to pull a few and see if it's actually chufas. Take a picture and post it here, might be a world record

Take a picture and post it here, might be a world record Don’t know how to post pictures, but I’ll be glad to text you one, and you are welcome to post it. I pull a few and see how they’re making every time I go check on em. Can’t help it lol.

Has anyone tried mowing Chufa ? Got a few sickle pod plants about to go to seed. I’d like to mow it if possible.

I mow mine sometimes if they’re done anyway to try and keep the grass and stuff from taking hold.

Has anyone tried mowing Chufa ? Got a few sickle pod plants about to go to seed. I’d like to mow it if possible. I usually mow mine about this time of year, probably sooner if a field has sicklepod. The only reason not to would be if you still have chufa plants that are green and growing.
