He got his Birthday present a little early. He may not ever amount to anything more than a yard dog but Hopefully we will be knocking squirrels out over him in February!!!

That right there is awesome. The innocent happiness of a boy and his dog. World would be a better place if we could all go back to those days. Thx for posting.

He looks to be 4? If so he’s the same age as Stephen was when we got the boy’s. Worked out great as they were tearing it up when he was 6 and we’ve killed a pile off them since and they’re 10 now.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

He will be four next month. That was my plan. To have him trained by the time my son is old enough to really start hunting

Sounds like you have it right. Just start spending as much time as possible with him to get him where he needs to be. Only thing that sucks is as they (kids) get older we tend to lean more to the deer. My dogs would have been something special if I hadn’t let them sit while we deer hunted more and more.

That’s the good thing about having plenty of pecan trees around the farm. I can keep him in squirrels without having to bother any deer hunters.
