DGAMBLER OP 8 point Joined: Dec 2018 Posts: 2,226 Dale County, AL	This is my first year planting peas and everytime it's time to pick and shell, they have black dots all over pods where I'm guessing bugs have got to them. What pesticides do I need to use for this? It's very frustrating with all the time it takes to get them from vine to table. To GOD be All the glory!!!

coachg34 10 point Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 3,252 Pisgah,Al,Jackson	Bad news , when you shell them every pea may have a sting / black spot . There will be a little worm in each pea ! Ok if you like extra protein but most folks won’t eat them . Need to spray when they bloom or set the young peas with liquid sevin or malathion. Spray late in the day if you spray in the bloom so not to kill the bees .
