So, I put the boat in yesterday afternoon to try an relax a bit and check on a hazard marking project some of us are performing. First place I want to go fish there are TWO damn pontoons going circles pulling kids on tubes. mad. So, I go else where. I pull up to another spot grab a crankbait and sling it. I heard something sounded like fish busting shad and look over to see stripe tearing it up. I reeled crankbait in and grabbed a lipless and slung it. Bam, one on. For the next 15-20 minutes I bet I caught 30-40 between 1/2 pound to 1.5 pounds. I also had a first happen. At three different times I caught two at one time! I got pics of one but forgot to take pics of the other two. Hell, I got tired of catching them and picked the deep crankbait back up to see if there were any spots below them getting the spoils. Nope, could not get it below them before one grabbed it. It has been years since I have had this much fun just catching fish. Yall may turn your nose up at this, but it sure helped me forget about world troubles for a little bit.

Sounds like fun. Drake are the Orange buoy markers what your referring to? I noticed some at places where debris has been for a while trees and such.

It is fun. When they are on and you can just cast and reel in a fish over and over for hours its hard to beat that. Them stripe aint bad on the grill either

Tell me how you clean them to get the blood line taste out. I have done it on big salts 20+ pounds but none this small.

Catching fish is just fun. Even if I don't catch the species I'm after, it gets the adrenaline going every time.

Yep. If it's got fins, it's a good fish. smile

Getting into a school of stripe is about as fun as it gets.

Ehh if you've caught one stripe you've caught them all

I have caught a bunch, and spots, and LM. I don't care who you are it is fun when they are busting shad and surfacing. Unless you are a TX fisherman then they piss you off.

Drake, you were talking about the topwater double ups.... About 15 years ago at Dream Lake Lodge ( when Paul Bracknell ran it ) I doubled up with a spit n image at least 7-8 times. When that place was on it was a freakshow.
