Sold a few calves a week ago........range was $1.20 to $1.35 per pound for them. The farmers ain't getting rich, kinda like the timber growers. YUP

Pilgrim’s kills 30m head per week. 2nd largest only to Tyson. If it last long it’s going to hurt. Wangs going to be hard to come by. Pilgrims only caught 3 houses in our area last night. Pushing farmers catch back for a week.. only gonna hurt the farmers. Our company just gave us a small raise a week ago.. they were not affected by the hack job.. hmmm

Buy local. Hell, somebody has 3 cows in the classifieds now. Have them haul it to the processor and pay a kill fee. Split it with a friend and have enough beef for a year. Good luck getting a processing date that quickly and easily. We have been trying to get one, and finally, thanks to some friends for giving us a spot that they did not use, we dropped one off yesterday morning. Jeremy

A lot of the spots reserved are guys raising cows who have not sold them yet. It’s worth calling around to cattle farmers.
