Heritage Rough Rider 22 revolver at Rural King for $129.99

Are they any count?

Are they junk? I know it's $130 bucks but are they worthless garbage? I'm looking for a cheap pistola to throw in a boat for trouble makers or mr no shoulders. Anyone have one and had trouble with it or anything?

I keep one in the glove box of my truck loaded with snake shot...I've also used it as a hammer in a pinch. for what you want, probably fine. I think the most common issue with them is the hammer spring breaking, but I think it's pretty cheap, too.

I'd spend the extra jack and get a Ruger Wrangler.

I'm sure I sold 100s of them when I worked at a gun store. My basis of good/bad wasn't what went out the door but what was brought back in that didn't work. Never had a single one of the Hertage Rough Riders come back. They are the only single action revolver with a flip safety. no problem with the Wranglers but they haven't been out too long.

I have an old Haws single action 6 gun in .22. Mounted on a .38 frame with steel insert in the barrel. Bought it when I was 12. Fun to shoot. I have squirrel hunted with it.

I’ve had 4 or 5 over the years and never have had a problem with them. Even thinking about picking up one of there newer models called the Barkeep for fishing.

The Hawes revolvers were made in Germany in the 1960s by Sauer and Sohn - predecessor of Sig Sauer.

I've had both the Rough Rider and the New Ruger Wrangler, The rough rider is a great less expensive pistol. But for $30-$40 more , the Ruger is a heck of a lot more accurate.

I have a Rough Rider and I also have a Ruger Single Six. They both shoot well but the Single Six is much smoother, better looking and just has a better fit and feel in my hand. For the price the Rough Rider is going to be hard to beat though. I have no complaints about it, but it's a Kia not a Lexus.

Just to be frank, the Wrangler looks like a Single Six, but that's where it stops. The Six is much more refined and the action slicker. I just never cared for the safety on the Heritage. They go bang reliably, but always preferred the Ruger.

The Hawes revolvers were made in Germany in the 1960s by Sauer and Sohn - predecessor of Sig Sauer.

Bought it from Western Auto. Was $79 in 1974. Haven't shot it in 10 years at least

I never wanted anything to do with one because of the weird looking safety on the side. Id spend a little extra and get the Ruger Wrangler.

I sold a pile of the Heritage revolvers. I think I had one come back ever. I forget the issue but Heritage resolved it.
