Had my house stained last year. My wife wanted it and when it was finished it I really liked it.

My house is painted brick. To each their own but I love the look.

Yep to each their own. But once you paint, you'll never be able to go back 😄

Probably because it looks good just long enough to make a sell 😃

Depends on the brick. Some brick homes have beautiful brick and should never be painted. Other homes have ugly or very dated brick and paint makes a huge difference!

Ugly brick that needs little maintenance is still ugly.

Well done painted brick on a previously ugly house that may require more maintenance is better in my opinion.

Either is fine, just an owner preference!

Same thing goes for fireplaces!

I wouldn't build one of brick and plan to paint them unless it was half price. I have seen some before and after and the after (done right) would be worth the upkeep for me.

Lot of painted brick houses in my area. I like the look. It can make a really old house with ugly brick look good. A lot of people that know they want to paint the brick just use the ugliest, cheapest brick they can use and paint it.

Have y'all ever used a paint gun? I painted our brick house by myself and it didnt take that long to do the whole thing....The biggest pain was just having to constantly refill the gun with paint........I think it may have taken around 15 gallons total

I have a painted brick house. It holds paint very well for a long time. We painted the whole front and shutters during the pandemic. It had been over 15 years. Two coats.
I’m indifferent about it thought. My dads house is not painted.

As long as you prep the brick and use Loxon you will be fine. We just painted ours and it looks like a completely new house. Ive had a ton of compliments on it.

We had ours painted a couple years ago. The guy and his crew used brushed and rollers, he said that way was better than spray painting. We also had a mold/algaecide mixed into the paint.

I have painted many brick homes. Use Loxon, by Sherwin Williams, as a primer first. Finish with Loxon Topcoat. Weathered paint on brick, even looks better.
