At least the flatheads are waking up from their winter slumber. The surface temp is now back above 50. I am ready for G Dam to scale back the water release so I can head up there and fill a cooler with skipjack. This one was 20.8 lbs and inhaled our live bluegill suspended underneath the boat. As the day wore on, so did the increase in wind. We took shelter at the mouth of the Paint Rock River and cast cut bluegill back into the Tn River. This one was sneaky. He had already taken my bait and then swam over and took the bait from our second rod. At first we thought we had a double hookup, but it was one fish on two rods. 12.4 lbs. We decided to go explore and try to find some rare calm water. One small area of about 100 yards long was the best we could do. But it gave up a 7 lb blue for Elijah to reel in. Sunday my boat partner and I went looking at Tennessee acreage for his retirement home. He is going to place a bid on 35 acres this week. This creek borders one side of the property. Plum full of small bass and other fish.

Yessir windy. Son fished the nucor tourney out of decatur. They ran east trying to escape the mud from decatur flats and rollers of that wide water west. Caught 13+lbs but didn't make it to money. 2 guys they know weren't so lucky. One clipped a stump in the flats and lost the lower unit and another hit a log, hidden by the wind made waves, and did some damage. Just not sure as to what extent. Thankfully, my triton made it up river and back!
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.
