I’ve never installed it, but I can tell you it’s light years ahead of carpet. I’ll never own another boat with carpet.

I had the vinyl but in my new boat. I thought it might be slick when wet. Nope. Fished numerous days this past fall in the rain. It has great grip.

I have used both HydroTurf and SeaDek and they were both real good. No mud, fish guts, etc. that I could tell wouldn't wash right off and we used this in boats that got commercial use. It will come in a roll and just lay it somewhere out of the box until it will lie flat before you try to install it. Easy as laying carpet after that.

I would never put carpet or carpet type stuff in a boat. It just holds water. I prefer topsides paint and non skid but the vinyl stuff is a winner if you have to cover up areas that can't be painted.

Thank you for that tip about laying it out, or I would have just took it straight out of the box. On installing it, did you wrap the lids like traditional carpet, or just run it flush with the edges? That is my biggest predicament right now.

I put hydroturf on a fulldeck airboat and it was great stuff I rounded the exposed edges with a router and also Used 3M heavy duty spray glue under the joints and edges And it lasted good .they put a harder surface on it and better UV Resistance stabilizers in it nowadays. Plus its a whole lot cheaper than Seadeck too i believe Good luck
It's cheaper than seadek, but seadek is far superior and lasts a whole lot longer. It doesn't rot and crumble in a few years of uv exposure like hydroturf.

About to start installing mine this week. Did you let the spray glue get tacky before sticking them together, or did you mash it straight down while it was wet? I have seen people doing it both ways, just wanted to hear your experience.
