This sounds like it could’ve been it if it was anywhere else, but this road leads to not one single field corn or otherwise. Either way... gw was a jerk

My first thought. Over where I hunt on Wheeler, there were huge piles of spilled soybeans. I saw lots of deer this year rofl

Edit: but yeah that sucks the GW was a jerk. I've only ever talked to helpful ones but that doest mean they are all helpful.

In my opinion, calling a game warden is useless, better off figuring how to handle the problem yourself.

My experience with the GW's has been positive....They were very helpful and responded quickly....I mean they didnt kiss my ass with please and thank you or nothing but I wouldnt expect them to.....They're law enforcement officers so I would expect them to talk a little blunt and direct..... Sounds like you may have been dealing with an a-hole

Don't think for a minute someone that acts like that wouldn't write a ticket even if he knew they weren't hunting over it.

I found a corn pile near a rural neighborhood years ago. I am sure they worked on the local deer herd, but I figured at it's location any game warden would have found it if they even made little effort being it was only 100 yards off the main road. To me they have more important problems than running out checking on a dang corn pile like drugs and other crimes on public land. I just go the other way and hunt! I always seem to think is humorous the big deal people make over a corn pile.

Funny, they wouldn’t consider that baiting but a few years ago my father-in-law and his buddy were at their club on opening weekend. GW came in and wrote the other guy a ticket because he found two, TWO kernels of corn in the food plot where there had previously been a feeder. The feeder had been removed before season, in compliance with the law. So, a pile of corn by the gate isn’t baiting but two kernels in a food plot is. By the way, I’d of hung up on him as soon as his tone turned smart a$$.

Is it really making a big deal to just call and report something?

gcr000, was this a Federal GW or our local State GW?? If it was on Wheeler it should have been a Federal GW. If it was our local GW he may have been slightly miffed that he had to deal with it but he comes off as having a chip on his shoulder most of the time anyway! I'm talking about the one that covers Morgan County.

When I looked up the directory it only showed one game warden for the county. Maybe he’s pissed about that too.
