With all the 130 talk I thought I'd ask a question about deer scoring. I have a couple bucks that survived the season and I would guess one was 126 and the other is 128. But really I'm saying I think both are just about 130 but not quite there. I'd guess the narrow one is 2 1/2 but the wider one may be 3 1/2 (from other pictures). . I might have had a hard time passing with my bow on the wider buck. Glad I didn't have to decide because they should be nice this fall. Tell me if I'm too hard or if those numbers are about right. deer 1 Deer 1 Deer 2

Both bucks, high teens, first one might get into the low to mid 120s (hard to tell on mass when they are in velvet). Tine length on the g-3s really hurts the second buck. They might both hit 130 next year if they grow or they may just stay like they are. Nice bucks.

I agree with abolt...if that bottom one had his beams coming on around closer to each other and good g3 he'd make it...good luck I'd shoot em both as is

Thanks guys. We shall see how big they get next year. I'll remember to post again on these over the summer. I didn't hunt this property this this year because last year the neighbors shot almost all the nice young bucks I had on camera and my cousin shot the only nice older deer. I think next year will be good again if the neighbors don't go crazy again and my cousin doesn't get so lucky. He should be nice too.

I use the Buckscore program to get a good estimate and I think if you take your time and do it right it is actually in the ballpark. Certainly not exact but for sure you can tell the difference between a 120 vs 140 based on a good cell cam picture.
The main reason I use it is because everyone thinks a 110 inch deer is a 140 and while the season is playing out and we are discussing what we are seeing in the woods everyone is on the same page about how big the deer is. It's not my opinion at that point there is a point of reference. That's the key. If I didn't use it many 100-120 inch deer would be killed because they all look big on the hoof in the woods @ 3.5 years old when there is an itchy trigger finger around.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
