I have about an acre of imperial whitetail and some ladino and white dutch mixed in.When is the best time to spray it before turkey season. Also when would you fertilize? If you have some standing beans can you spray and just broadcast clover into them?

I spray cleth when the trees start budding (can mix in a little pre-em if the field is going to be thin after the grasses burn out for weed prevention)

I fertilize 45-60 days later.

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

Yep. Early spring is good, especially if you have any grasses in the clover that you planted with it as companions. They’ll really take off in March and April.

I'd get the grasses shortly after they emerge with Sethoxydim . As far as broadcasting the clover in standing beans It would be okay if you are getting good soil/seed contact, meaning seed touching bare ground. Ideally you need to run over it with a cultipacker to get good germination. I prefer to plant perennial clover in the fall. Fall planting gives the roots time to develop so it will more able to withstand hot summer weather even though it may be dormant. You can still get a good stand planting it now but hot, dry weather will take a toll on it. I would take a soil sample and amend accordingly. I would lime it in the spring and fertilize in the fall.

the beans are in a low spot of a field next to the woods. Mbrock if you sprayed the beans then sowed the clover and cultipacked it would that be legal to hunt over?

There is no calendar date. You have to keep an eye on the plots and get the grasses early before they go to seed.
