Way to honor your Dad. The 30/30 remains a deer killer supreme. . Very fine hunt, that is what all this is about. I've killed enough bucks and big bucks in my time, now it is about truly enjoying the whole thing. Bringing out your dad's old gun is part of that type of hunting some of us are enjoying later in life. My dad nor uncle didn't deer hunt with rifles, so I don't have that part, but I do have old shotguns and such that I bring out when I can. It's about the memories, too soon and young stupid, too old smart.
