I find myself carrying at the 5:30 to 6:00 position most times. Current holsters are right handed with a slight forward cant. I was wondering if a left handed holster with no cant would work? Anyone ever try this?

I don’t think you’re going to get a good grip on the gun that way. Not only that you’re going to end up potentially pointing the barrel at yourself because you have to turn your wrist/arm.

. It works for me, even in the summer with a dark T-shirt. I have to lay off white T-shirts with shorts and flip flops. I'm not that thin.

Why won't I get a good grip? The grip will be the 1st thing my hand touches this way. Potentially pointing the barrel at myself is a valid point.

I carried at 4:00 for years, just find the gun is more comfortable pushed to around 5:30. More comfortable = I always carry

I've done this......several times. I understand it's not as fast as 3:00 but for my style of dress especially during warm weather, I find 5:30ish is more comfortable. I'd rather be a fraction slower if it means I'm ALWAYS carrying.

I've been carrying for years, multiple holsters, multiple positions. I've gradually switched so I normally find myself carrying IWB at 5:30-6:00. Problem with doing this is it puts the grip at an awkward angle to draw. My question was, has anyone tried a left handed holster to be drawn right handed from the 5:30-6:00 position? Kind of like a 6:00 cross draw.

The rabbit hole this thread took never addressed the original question, though.

. To answer your question, I have not tried this, but there is a way to do it, go to a hunting store and try a few out. I'm not talking academy or dick's, I'm talking a local hunting store that will work with you, spend the extra money, because they are spending the extra time. Also, buy a few other things while you are in there. Question, what size gun are you carrying and are you carrying inside or outside? I found this on cants:
A Real SOB: This last one is one of the more controversial holstering options, but we aren’t here to talk about that. Carrying Small of Back, or SOB, has it’s own set of rules for concealed carry cants. The most traditional cants are neutral, horizontal, and negative. The horizontal cant places the gun upside down, with the grip facing your strong side. This allows a quicker draw than the neutral cant, and runs along your belt line instead of the spine. The last one is a negative cant, done by using a weak hand IWB holster and placing it at the base of your spine. This allows for the wearer to get a firm grip on the firearm and have the gun angled at a more ergonomical cant.

Yep - switch to small of back with the grip angled up and the barrel closer to parallel to the ground.
