Slipped in here without a light and climbed the wrong tree, so shot selection is limited. Set up on a ridge where big pines meet smaller pines with a narrow hardwood draw. Gorgeous morning to watch the woods wake up. Stay safe and good luck.

I'm setup overlooking a feeder in Marengo county. I've had only one racked buck (6 pt) on camera here all season. I haven't checked the camera in a few days so I don't know if he's still around or if the neighbors already killed him. Doesn't look like the deer have been eating the corn in the last few days. At any rate, maybe I'll at least see a deer with it as hot as it is.

Moved back further in the woods this afternoon. Set up in a finger ridge that drops down into a slough. Red oaks and water oaks in a little neck of woods that should funnel the deer right past me. If nothing else maybe a few ducks will fly in for entertainment.

It only took a week. Things are looking up.

No animals where harmed on this trip. Ended up seeing two does and a fawn.
