My 2017 Silverado transmission went out at 83,000. Just got a 5000 price on new transmission. They are truly a POS

Somebody at the GM plant is gonna get fired for setting the timer too early on that one.

The very last Chevrolet I ever owned started making terrible transmission noises 2 days after I drove it off the lot. Dealership said nothing they could do....call Chevrolet. Chevrolet said the noise was consistent with the design. I called BS on a brand new truck that sounded like it was falling apart. Chevrolet told me to lawyer up and sue because they weren't going to do anything about it and I was stuck with it.

Florida has a "lemon law" statute that is very very consumer friendly in situations such as you describe Daylate. You should've lawyered up and took both the dealer and Chevy to the cleaners. You're required to give the dealer 3 chances to fix it and once they fail to remedy the situation, at least on powertrain issues, it is on, and they are pretty much forced to just roll over. You've got to document stuff and it is somewhat of a pain, but I got a brand new replacement truck from Toyota. Toyota took a hard line to start with, but once I told them that they'd failed to fix it after three tries and having my brand new truck in the shop for a combined total 85 days, and that I was getting ready to lawyer up and officially file, they just rolled over belly up and called and asked me If I would drive over to the dealer and see if they had one on the lot that I wanted to swap for. On another note, it was hunting season and they had to provide me with a 4wd loaner while they had mine. You wanna talk about driving a truck like you stole it............

I am pretty sure the factory warranty runs out at 60000 miles. The good news is you can get it rebuilt at Quality GM transmission rebuilders in Pinson for around 2300. I personally drove GM for years before switching to Ford due to all the issues.

Don’t get too excited, just had a new one put in mine. 2015 Z71 Silverado. Guess what? It sucks just as bad as the old gm transmission that was in it. I’ll never buy a new GM vehicle again, and all I’ve ever owned was chevys.

traded my 2017 w/ 8spd tranny with 58500 miles on it. After having a buddy with the same trucks transmission going out at 68000 miles i got out of it before the factory warranty ran out. Traded in on a new 1500 with the 10 spd. at 2500 miles seems to be a good tranmission. only time will tell

Trade it. I’m going to trade mine in on something, just don’t know if anything that’s better. They all suck
