Thoughts on moving aggressive stock investment funds to a more stable area such as bonds?

Move it to ammo commodities 😀

You should be balanced. The percentage depends on your age. If your going to retire in the next 5 years I would think about it.

Problem is the bond market is absolute garbage right now.

Look for other conservative investments. Real estate, defined benefit plans, etc. It's not as liquid, but might make you more percentage wise.

#1 question is your age. But, there are funds which specialize in dividend paying stocks that usually outperform bonds.

No on bonds, bury it in the backyard or look into dividend paying or preferred stocks. There are companies with safe dividend histories, Southern Co is an example

I'm not a big broker, those in the know, what about a good REIT for the OP?

Exxon is far from stable. It was decimated last year.

Have been in and out of Exxon for 20 plus years. It has been a good dividend paying stock but I lost my rear end in the last few years. Bought some on the way down and it just kept dropping. Still own it and feel like I will recover my losses. The point is that it is no longer a safe stock.
