I keep a 12 ga with open choke loaded with 2oz Hevi 13. At close range in house would it be correct in saying you couldn't hit the bad guy any harder?

Yes, however #7 lead or even 9's for that matter will do the trick at close range. 9's inside of 10 yards is like a meat grinder wink

Just make sure you aren't going through to many walls.

I just have a rusty old pocket knife at my house. I sold all my guns because they are just too dangerous.

load it with #8s and shoot for the face. Upward angle will lesson damage to others in adjoining rooms and a load of 8s to the face at ten feet will do the job. It might not kill a home invade but who cares....

Other than having to pay the medical costs and inmate upkeep, I don't.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I have no knowledge of this since I don't own any guns. However, if I did own a gun for house self defense it would most likely be a S&W 357 magnum with hydra shok bullets. If it were to pass thru a wall, I just might hit another thug so the more the merrier.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

X2, but if I had home defense guns, might be a good ol' .38 S&W and an ol' humpback Browning, 26" cylinder bore, with some nice high brass 6s. eek

chokes won't matter at ten feet, they will all be real tight.

best weapon by far is a 12 or 20 ga shotgun loaded with birdshot, and having a gun mounted light. Ya just point the light and shoot, no aiming.

Wonder what some TSS 8s would do at 10 ft.

If I had purchased this Mossberg 500 Home Defense 410 a few weeks ago

I may had loaded 7 rounds of these bad boys and put it next to her bed.

Having seen the autopsy photos of close range shotgun to the head, I can tell you, it doesn't matter if it is 9s of buckshot, it is nasty.

I plan to dial 911 and ask for my nearest law enforcement professional to arrive in a timely manner. I have complete confidence in their ability to protect my family and my property, and see no need to spend money on dangerous firearms when that money could be redistributed to those persons deemed more deserving of it by our duly elected officials in Montgomery and Washington DC.

I agree with the #8 Bird. I keep it in my shotgun and dont have to worry about blowing through the walls while chasing the pecker out the door.

Figures that you'd get all excited about chasing peckers. :-)

00 buckshot for me, some of the distances in my house are too far for birdshot.
