M48scout 12 point Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 5,793 Hoover, AL	The 6.5 Creed is popular because of the shootability conferred by the relatively low recoil in comparison to other calibers. This shootability equals field accuracy, confidence, and corresponding deer going down. It’s just a mildly suped up 260 Remington which is a mildly suped up 6.5 Swedish. Nothing wrong with either of those, they are awesome calibers for their intended purpose. Low recoil and muzzle blast is nothing to be ashamed of, and is a great reason to buy one, but there’s nothing magical about the 6.5 creedmore. The 270 Win is a more powerful heavier duty cartridge. Now whether one can be as effective with it is another story and involves one’s rifleman capabilities. Same as if one stepped up to a 30-06 or 300 mag.
