Looking to buy my first crossbow.... I am trying to decide between a Barnett Whitetail Pro and a Killer Instinct Burner 415. I have used a Barnett Raptor before, and was good with it, but its time for my own. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Mainly looking for quality, durability of each, and any other info to help me decide! Thanks!!!

I got a Barnett whitetail Hunter - first cross bow I ever had - very please - shot 2 with it this year - very fast - I like it

The blood trail on the first deer was massive - looked like someone had poured bucket of blood over buck when o got to it - that was More broad head related

I like the fact that Barnett is made in USA... That is definitely making me lean towards that one.... May I ask what broadhead you use?

Not trying to piss in your cornflakes😃, but Barnett is not made in the U.S. what I read, assembled only with some parts. Barnett did have some issues on one of their crossbow's with limbs cracking, probably poor quality control from a certain Chinese manufacturer, but seem to be good crossbows. Most are overly priced imo. Tenpoint, Wicked Ridge, and Horton are all made by the same company to my understanding. If you have the extra money all those seem to be good. If not you may have to go with what is in the budget.

I don’t eat cornflakes 😊 But, I am new to crossbows. I am just going by what I have read. I really do appreciate the info though, seriously. Since it is my first one, I put myself on a budget. My dogs are too needy to be buying myself nice things!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Barnett's quality issues were from a few years ago. They make good crossbows. The Whitetail Hunter and Hypertac 420 are solid.

TenPoint and Wicked Ridge also are good, reliable and worth the money. Horton was bought by TenPoint, mainly for patent stuff, and is not produced anymore.

BoykinMom - sorry so late on getting back to you

The broad head is called bloodsport 100 grain - 1x2 inch cut - nitefall is under the heading

I am a rookie to bow hunting - the last dear I hit I hit very average - but he had silver dollar size exit wound And I hit him at conservatively 50 yards - the first deer At 20 yards hit perfect - it startled me when I walked up on him - blood everywhere- I got some bow buddies that said they never seen nothing like it when I sent them bloody pic

My buddy picked out this hole rig for me - I just paid for it - glad I did

I just found put about the new TenPoint Wicked Ridge..... I actually got the Barnett Whitetail Pro STR, but it is too big for me. I don’t have a place locally where I can actually see (out of the box) or try them, so it was a guess on whether or not it would work for me. Definitely interested in the Ten Point though!!

They hav crossbows that you can just turn a handle and bow will pull back And you can turn it opposite direction to let bow go back to normal which would not b as hard as pull back On whitetail bow u got - sorry that did not work out

Academy has got a Barnett Stalker 380 for 269.00. It is a great crossbow for the money. It is light weight and compact.
