I just paid off my farm/timber land loan at AL AG and had a great experience with them. When I was getting the loan initally I had AL AG and First South both give me quotes. At that time AL AG was a better deal but like T-Town said I would definitley talk to both of them. Probably cannot go wrong either way. Good luck!

Almost all ag credit loans are variable, so it will different in a few years after you sign up. They are also a little hard to deal with if you want to cut timber. Overall, the dividend makes your rate effectively lower and generally easy to deal with. Speaking of Ala. Ag credit My loan with Alabama Ag is fixed.

I’m not doing anything with a variable rate.

I used First South in Northport back in 09. They actually waived the surveying because all the borders were clearly marked. Few questions to ask is “what can I and what can’t I do with my land while it’s in Lien”. Cut timber, site prep, etc..
Everything woke turns to shucks
