My deer lease has a lot of water on it. A few of the properties surrounding ours have duck hunters. I often see ducks flying in and swimming in water from several of our tree stands. Ive thought about trying to kill a few. My question is what should be my plan of attack if i decide to try. I have no experience with duck hunting

If it’s wood ducks, go walk around and find where they are swimming, then be standing right there before daylight the next morning with your shotgun. Good luck!

X3. Find where they are going and be there early. Legal shooting time is 30 minutes before sunrise, so be there at least 15 minutes before that. Need the appropriate licenses and non-toxic shot. At lot of times I’ll strap my deer riffle over my shoulder. Twice I have been wood duck hunting and seen nice bucks.

What everyone has said. I used to shoot wood ducks and then go to my deer stand.

First deer I ever killed I killed a Woodie about an hour before.

The biggest buck I’ve ever seen in upper delta walked up to me while I was standing in a wood duck hole. Prolly 15” ten point. Stood there at twenty yards staring at me for five minutes while I wished I had my bow.

If you want to be viewed as real sophisticated you can just jump shoot them. I killed a bunch of ducks in oklahoma and Missouri ponds by sneaking up pond dams. And letting whacking them. Don't share with your duck hunting of fly fishing friends though.
