The Mule is slow and an entry level UTV IMO. I bought one brand new In 2010 for myself and again first of this year for work and they were identical. Tough as nails but the ride is nothing like other machines.

Tough as nails but the ride is nothing like other machines. 4010 mule is a stiff machine with a solid rear axle. The pro fx models are the ones to compare with Polaris, can am and the likes. It has independent suspension and a 3 cylinder motor. The motor is extremely quiet compared to a DOHC. The mule has two complaints from me. The seats aren't comfortable and there is no where to put your left foot.

I’ve never been on the pro machines Jared but looking at them I can agree with you.

I bought a 2012 Ranger 800 from a member on here in 2015. Will buy another one if/when this one gives out. It’s still going strong.

My brother just got one of those Honda something or others. He loves it.

The Mule ProFX is the better machine for what 99% of people on this site do. It has nothing in common with the "base" Mule (4010) except for the name. I have one of each, and the Mule is superior. The Mule is quiet, has a much better ride, is metal where virtually all others are plastic, and is extremely well thought-out. The wheelbase on the crew cab is much shorter so it's not like having to drive a short bus through the woods. Plus, the rear seats fold up and you have a very large dump bed when the second row isn't needed. It's a superb feature.
I depend on UTVs for a living and am not easy on them. To be candid, when I purchased my most recent one, I was fairly set on buying a Honda. I have had several Hondas and they are very well built. However, my issues were that it's far, far louder than the other two, the transmission is jerky, and the rear seating (if a 4-seater is desired) is OK for a short distance, but not acceptable for adults.
The Mule won't out race either of the other two, but it wouldn't have any issue winning a tug of war.
