I thought there was a discussion about bug bites here not long ago but I searched and couldn't find it.

I got eaten UP with something this week. never saw anything or felt anything on me. we cut hurricane blown trees up most of Sunday, woke up Monday morning and had bright red bites all over my legs, under my arms, my back, butt, everywhere...tiny little bites look like ants but definitely not ant bites. I never felt getting bit, but I probably had 200 bites all over me. they don't itch, they actually hurt a little if there's a clump of them together, kind of like a bruise. finally this afternoon, 5 days later, some of them started to itch while most of them still are somewhat painful

never seen anything like this....anyone had similar?

I looked up redbugs...but I don't know if that's what it is or not. we never saw any strange bugs either, so whatever it was goy in my shirt and pants and tore me up.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

from what I read they say chiggers itch right off the bat, that's one of the main symptoms, these never itched until 5 days later..I would like for it to be that, LOL...not some strange mutant zombie bug from hell...

Ask your Dr. for a fluorinated steroid cream. It will help relieve the itch.

Be sure and wash all your clothes and gear well. They may be in your truck too. I’ve been through a recent bout where I suspect they have gotten in my truck somehow and re-bitten me on the leg.

I used to have a stand in SC that came to be known as the "chigger hole".
On me, it's mostly on the belly where they like to dine.
That was before I discovered Permethrin spray for clothing.
Supposedly it's poorly absorbed through skin. (i know)

Not prohibitively expensive and worth the trouble.
Get about 8 good chigger bites that itch for 3 weeks,
and you will be ready for some.

If you are already bit, use "After Bite Extra".
A gel that is mainly ammonia. Good stuff.
