Well I will take my Ruger # 1 270 and shoot with anyone I had a Winchester model 70 270 that was something else but I shoot left handed so I think one of my grandsons has it. It is not the calaber it’s the guy pulling the trigger 🇺🇸 Please explain how the gun knows who pulled the trigger. does the deer react differently based on how hard you pulled the trigger. Maybe if you do a limp wristed pull. It slows the bullet down too much. I’ve been killing deer a long time. And I promise you I know how to hit them and where to hit them to put there ass down.

I've probably killed 50 deer with a 270 and 130gr Partitions. It is a very good deer bullet with a fast opening front and deep penetrating rear.
You can shoot a deer thru the heart, thru ONE lung and the heart, thru BOTH lungs....but Both lungs and the heart in one shot. Damn, I want one of those bullets.......
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

What I find to make the most difference has nothing to do with bullets …..You can go on all day about this, that, and the other with bullets and guns and scopes and everything else……But none of that really matter when you have a come apart as soon as horns step out.

I bet a 22lr or 22short has killed more deer in the state of Alabama than any mentioned in this post.. I bet you’re right! They are not even in the running.

I see what your sayin’bhamfred! LMAO!!! You and I both know the type! Dang, if he had just used a 150gr bullet instead of that 145gr, they all would have dropped in their tracks! Same guy that wouldn’t shoot a .300 mag because it literally makes the deer explode when it hits and there is no meat left!!
Here’s your sign!

When I see 7 out of 8 deer run 50-100 yards after having good hits in the vitals it was time for a change. That was not acceptable results for me. Blame it on tough deer or bad luck or whatever, but that is what happened. In your defense, I had the same type results. Every buck I shot but one ran 75-100 yards with a 130 partition. Wouldn't have mattered much if I wasn't hunting the thickest stuff on the planet, but I was. Found all of them but they were butt deep in briars. Shot placements were perfect. My 7mm magnum with 140 grain fusions puts them down waaay quicker when I'm in the thick.

... If ya'll are satisfied with those type results, fine, not me... To be fair, I have watched deer folded like a lawn chair after being shot by both a .243 and 7Mag. I've also trailed deer that were shot by both. I've seen the same brand broadhead kill while not leaving much of a blood trail, then make the next deer look like a Tarantino film. Results can vary shot to shot, animal to animal. It's a matter of playing the odds.

But when you keep getting the same results and are hitting double digits with those same results, it could be the cartridge / bullet. I shifted gears and haven't had that problem with a couple dozen with my 7mm setup. There has to be something to it. I'm not discounting the 270, just doubting it's knockdown capability with 130 NP's. I'm sure a 130 core lok or fusion would give much different results.

oh dear, you hurt my feelings you little twit. It is physically impossible to shoot THRU both lungs and thru the heart with a single shot dumbass. That might not be true Troy. I honestly think that if he was positioned around the fourth rib, directly under the deer at a slight angle to one side he could come up through the lower lobe of one lung, through the heart and exit out the frontal upper lobe on of the other. None of the lung hits would be straight through and it'd be a hell of a shot. The angle would have to be almost perfect, but I think it could be done. Getting underneath the deer to pull the trigger would be the trick. Hate to have to get technical on you but you said it "cannot" be done. LOL
