The 270 doesn’t even penetrate today’s deer, got have the almighty 6.5 creed less.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Seems like when I was a teen all I ever heard about was a 30-06. Sure don’t hear too much about them these days. I assure you plenty of deer still hear about them. But what is left to say. It has been on top of the heap for well over a century. Still my favorite.

If they called it the 6.8 creed it would get a lot more respect.

The beauty of all these caliber of the month hosers is there’s still 30-06 ammo around lately and a used Rem bolt or pump in 30-06 is often less than $400 and just as good at flopping deer as anything out there.

When man prayed to God for a deer rifle God provided the 270 because it’s perfect. Because man is imperfect and needed a second choice God created the 7-08 because it’s as close to perfect as you can get. There’s literally no other caliber that can compare to those two for whitetail deer hunting. I bought a 270. Just would not put them down like the ol 06. Took the scope off of it after 2 seasons and about 8 deer. and went back to where I belong. Fine caliber. Not for me.

Just think, I was hunting with a 308 before the 308 was cool.

308 is the low rent cousin of 30-06 Well I've got friends in low rent places Where the powder burns and the sights embraces and it'll be ok... gonna be a bang flop anyway! Oh I've got friends, in low rent places.
