I’m giving it a go this morning. Hoping just to see some deer. I’ve got to attend a good friends funeral later today, and I’ll no doubt spend this morning reflecting on my buddy Ron. Ron was one of the nicest men I’ve ever known. Always willing to help anyone out, always willing to serve. He battled cancer for the last year, and did so with honor and dignity. I’m a better man for having known Ron. RIP with our Lord Jesus Ron.
Jesus... I hope you know Him personally like I do.

Good luck on your hunt and sorry to hear about your friend - sounds like he lived good life the right way
I am on my bow stand this morning but will try muzzleloader for first time this year this evening and tomorrow
Good luck guys

Dozen standing 100 yards behind the house but I'm too tired to mess with one. I'd have to take it to the prosser tonight. I can't see to drive after dark. Maybe if it was 20° cooler.

Quick Story: Was hunting some national forest land that I haven't been to in a couple of years. A couple of years ago, I had a few pictures of some good bucks in the area. It's a VERY steep and VERY long walk in to this spot. I started walking at 5:05, and got set down on the ground at about 5:50. At 6:05, I knew I heard a deer walking across the holler. When I finally cause a glimpse of it, it was probably 150 yrds away, walking parallel to me on the hillside, occasionally stopping to eat acorns. Eventually, the deer started walking down the side of the hill towards me, and closed the distance to about 70 yrds. He dropped on the shot, and as I was putting my belongings into my backpack, he rolled down the STEEP hill all the way to the bottom. It took almost 3 hours (with help from a friend) to drag him out. I don't know his age, but he was a mainframe 8 with 3 brow tines. He was 18 1/4 in inside wide, and field dressed between 150 and 160 lbs the processor said. I'm VERY blessed to just be able to enjoy another day in God's creation!
