My dad was involved as attorney for Blanton early in the process. He was looking for nothing but headlines. They also were two old men who in had not been a factor in anything other than setting their depends for decades.

Said some members she knows well said at least one of the men sent up the river for blowing up the church had absolutely nothing to do with it. Set up from the getgo. The guy prosecuted a couple of guys who were old, broke, and easy targets. Low hanging fruit. If you’ve paid any attention to the latest high profile federal investigations(or lack thereof), they don’t really seem to be as focused on justice as one would believe. Actually - it very much is. I have no real knowledge as I was on the other side of the globe blowing shucks up at the time. That's why I asked for both of those who defended the KKK to let me know exactly why they were defending them.
