The story about how he came up with the Sackett name is good
L'Amour was about to get whipped by a group of guys and two brothers stepped in to defend him and they cleaned house
He was a heck of a man
Professional Boxer
Mule Skinner
Novelist
Saw every place he wrote about and lived in some way the things he wrote about

Well, he did write broke back mountain. So it figures that he's a goobersmoocher.

L'Amour didn't write Brokeback Mountain.

And he probably is voting for Biden, cause he's dead.

Crap. I was thinking about Larry McMurtry

Yep. He's a good writer, but as with almost all artists, he could be a little screwed up in the head.

The book about Meideval Europe is titled "The Walking Drum". I read it a number of when I was growing up. Loved it along with Last of the Breed and Jubal Sackett. For some reason the departure novels appealed more to me than the westerns.
