I think I have some sort of respiratory issue in my flock. I'm noticing a lot of sneezing when I'm in the coop checking on things. I picked a few up and listened and they don't seem to be wheezing or anything but the sneezes have definitely gotten more frequent over the last week. What do I need to do to help them get over whatever they've got?

Keep them 6 feet apart and make them wear a mask! Im sorry but I could not resist.

Honestly, I have no idea. Have your recently changed feed? Also, check their watering sources or any feed for mold or mildew. My father used to keep chickens and had issues with feed that had gotten damp and was a little moldy/mildewy.

YouTube channel “Cog Hill Farm” recently posted a video on this. They bought their medicines from Tractor Supply. Might be worth your while to look up this vide.

I like Jiffy cornbread.

It could be something very mild, or it could be something very serious. I know that's not much help, but it's the God's honest truth. If you have any start dying, put them in the fridge immediately and PM me. I can walk you through doing a necropsy to figure out what's going on. You can mix apple cider vinegar with their water. We use to do that in the commercial poultry business. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not, but if you're using any kind of communal watering system, change it and sanitize it with bleach every day. That's the fastest way to spread disease other than the air they breathe.

I'm too tired to run these numbers but here's how we mixed the vinegar. One quart per gallon, and that was diluted one ounce per gallon by a mechanical pump. So whatever 1/128 of a 1:4 diution, per gallon of drinking water. Not much...

So I had one hen die, another young rooster got real sick (got really weak like the other hen and half of his face swole up), and now my hen turkey has a swollen face.

Do they have any scabs on their combs, or mucous coming out of their eyes? The swollen faces make me think it could be fowl pox.

It could also be swollen head syndrome or coryza, but coryza would be a stretch.

If it is SHS, then the swelling is most likely a secondary E. coli infection. It'll take a potent antibiotic to treat that.

No scabs that I can see. One of the hens that died had what looked like bubbles coming out of her eye that was swollen. I culled two of the young roosters because they were so weak acting that I didn’t think I could bring them back but dang I don’t want to have to kill my little hen turkey.

See if you can get some antibiotics. You might wrangle up some Tylan. Don't waste your time with Tetracycline.

Would they have that at the local feed store?

I doubt it.
