So my grandad said we gonna get into hay biz and he's gonna buy a new tractor...why, I don't know he has 5 now but he said he's looking at zetor. Anybody know anything good or bad about these? I told him to by an older one and he's got his mind made up on a new one.

No way I’d buy an “off” brand tractor to bale hay. He won’t be pleased with the results. Baling good, tight rolls of hay all comes down to hydraulic flow, and the tractors ability to keep from overheating and how fast you can get the hay into the baker. A 6000 series JD will do that job well if you get the 99 hp or larger tractor. We have a 6210 and 6310. The 6210 will bale hay good on flat ground but lacks the HP to really eat hay going uphill. It’s an 85 PTO hp tractor. The 6310 is a 99 PTO hp tractor and it will eat it any way you pull it.
I do not know the new numbers on the tractors but I think JD has not started rating their tractors based on engine HP like the competition does. The JD is gonna give you more creature comforts than any other tractor on the market and the hydraulic flow is more than most of them.
Make sure you compare actual in print numbers on pump volume and HP. Don’t believe what the dealer tells you

We were zetor dealers for along time. Still Own 5. Tough well built tractor. The only real problem we have is clutch slave cylinder. Easy to change out . Buy any parts you need offline Ya I heard they fixed that one the newer ones I just talked to a guy in Kentucky

Of the new JDs wouldn't the 50 R series be the ticket?

There really isn't a NEW tractor made that I would buy. The most dependable tractors are the 20 to 50 year old John Deere. We run several of them and they rarely have a problem. They just crank up and run, and run, and run, whenever you need them. John Deere couldn't give me a new tractor today. Well, I guess they could "give" me one and I'd sell it immediately.

I found a 7000 series today 94 model 5k hrs for 50k is that too many hours? Not for a 94. I wouldn't be afraid to put another 25k hours on it easily.

Probly a 7810 then. The 10 series was better made than the 00 series in my opinion

Just out curiosity, why you need one that size for a hay baler? You sure won't need the duals. You can sell those to offset the purchase price.
