Central Saskatchewan , the section of bush we were in was 50 miles X 100 miles. No houses, no roads, nothing, just a few snowmobile trails.

In the Rockies about 40mi nw of colorado springs, 25mi sw of pueblo or 20-25mi ene of Ely, Mn in the boundary waters. Was in some pretty remote places (even though we were on an interstate) in the 70's moving from louisiana to arizona or arizona to colorado.

Don't remember the name but there was a place I went to in Southern Arizona that gave me the creeps. I honesty had no idea how vast and desolate the west was till we drove out there. There wasn't anything for an hour and a half drive. I mean if you wanted to get rid of someone out there it wouldn't be hard to do.

That's a beautiful place.

In Idaho, near the Frank Church River of No Return wilderness area on an elk hunt. Brightest sky of stars I’ve ever seen, and eerie quiet.

I was a white dude living in Selma. Is that isolated enough?

A small remote Turkish Gypsy village about 1-1/2 hours by car outside Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Beautiful country, but not a lot in the way of creature comforts. I did see a car with cardboard body panels and a small truck being pulled by a couple of horses with about 20 workers piled up on it.

I thought western Iraq was pretty remote.

You were within a few miles of houses! You would've had to swim the river on either side but that's not close to remote.

I've never been out of the states so nothing compared to others who've already commented. Been in a few isolated spots in Montana and the U.P. of Michigan but the most isolated spot I've been in was Deerfield Lake in Black Hills National Forest. It's a long way from Custer S.D. to Spearfish S.D. through the national forest!
