LUMPY OP 14 point L Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 6,719 Huntsville, Al	Has anyone been? I’ve never hunted this early. Going to be on a place that is mostly overgrown cow pasture with some hardwood draws. I’ve seen the land once but didn’t really do much scouting. One place is loaded with white oaks but I doubt they will be dropping. Any suggestions? Gonna be fun just thinking about a chance at a velvet buck.

White oaks are usually the 1st to start dropping so maybe you’ll get lucky and a few will have started to fall. Velvet wall hanger is on my bucket list. Good luck! We’re not dead. I think i'll try to cape/clean it up enough to get it back to AL and my normal taxidermist.
