Headed down Thursday afternoon till Sunday. Was there all last week as well. Had to get out of the humidity and lack of wind in central Alabama and the gulf breeze didn’t disappoint. Got home yesterday and it was HOT and HUMID. Can’t wait to turn around and go back. I left the boat down there on purpose just so I would have to take another weekend:

The only reason I hunt ducks is to watch the dogs work.

Gomer, that's my dad he's talking about. The red Pomeranian is his favorite son. I'm not sure exactly where they are camping but he's beside the lake somewhere at the park, white Dodge truck but not sure of the brand of camper. His name is Jerry and if you see him say hi, he will like that. He will be there through the week. He has been going down to the bridge at the pass fishing early in the mornings and has caught some spanish mackerel and bluefish. If you have your fishing gear, he probably wouldn't mind you joining him.

Never trust an old man with a pomeranian. He's already pissed off because some woman made him look after a damn pomeranian!

LOL!!! It started out as his wife's and became his best buddy. On a positive note, he's not the little teacup variety of Pomeranian and will tree the crap out of a squirrel.

Our first night in the camper is in the books and went good. We had a legit thunderstorm roll in about 330 this morning. Lots of lightning and serious thunder along with a steady rain. Surprisingly the kids (who normally don’t do well in storms) never flinched. They finally got up about 615 bc both needed to go to the bathroom......not only did they not freak out at the storm, they said it made it more fun. Lol.

Just saw him walking the dog and stopped to say hi!

Sounds good. One thing I liked about the pop up is you can zip the windows down. Was nice when camping on the river. Had a yote cut loose one night about 20 feet from us. Cool

Beach is surprisingly not crowded although maybe this is the norm for the state park beach. Lot nicer than being packed in like sardines in front of the condos.

LOOKS all inviting and pretty, until you get there and it's hot, sandy, you get saltwater on you, and you wonder why in the world you thought this was a good idea... grin

It’s downright pleasant in the shade. Good breeze and not oppressively hot. A cooler full of Busch Lattes helps too
