It makes me furious. Step outside and immediately submerged in pure misery.
I would be better off if I could find some way to stay inside from May til November.

For some reason my buddy and I did a 12.8 mile hike in the Sipsey Wilderness yesterday. I went through all 5 liters of water by the time I got back to the trailhead. I’m thinking I’ll wait till fall or spring before I try that again.

Now see, if you'd been wearing your sign somebody could have stopped you before making that fool decision. 😳

Atleast you were in the shade most of the time. A pretty good feat either way but 13mi in the sun might have killed you.

You two may have had a heat stroke that preceded this decision. grin grin

Seriously, hydration before, during and after most anything done outside now is super important. Electrolyte supplementation is as well. But, unless you are training for some real adverse situations, why would you choose now to do that as opposed to maybe late October through April?

A buddy I had not seen in a while and we’ve been trying to get together and hang out. Just trying to take advantage of a time window. We met at trail head at 8:00 am. Everything was fine till about mile 10. At that point it took a toll on me! 5 liters was about right for that distance, although to your point I think I should have added a simple Gatorade or similar into the mix.

I just came in the house. I spent 4 hrs on the slave end of a chainsaw and weed eater clearing about a 60' by 60' spot in a 10yr old cut over. Little spot next to a heavy travel route coming out of a swamp area. I've had a camera in there for a couple of years. Finally decided to put in a little grocery spot for them. It is miserable out there.

First time I've gotten to take a Sunday afternoon nap in prolly 6 months.
Lovin' it.
