I’ve always laughed at the confirmed kill rate and used to give them crap that women are better snipers than they are. Its how you defend your territory and folk should NEVER forget this. 309 confirmed kills vvvvvvvvv https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyudmila_PavlichenkoThere are a few career fields in the Military I give credit to not because of their particular skillset but because that skillset requires them to be exposed to the worlds critters, vermin, insects, terrain, and weather, from days to weeks on end. Sniper is one of those jobs.

A while back our local FBI agent was when he was in the Marines. He got out and joined the FBI. Great guy. Completely unlike the political hacks in the agency. He was also an instructor for the FBI swat team. His name is Fred. Retired from the FBI and took a job at FLETC, the federal law enforcement training center in New Brunswick GA. I also had a joke of a chief that claimed to be a Army Special Forces Ranger, whatever that is, and said he was an assassin in Nicaragua. Fred and I were going hunting one day and laughing about this when Fred asked if I knew the best indicator Chiefie was lying and replied “other than the fact his mouth was moving?”. Fred looked dead serious and simply said “Because when you’ve done those things you don’t talk about it.” I knew then that Fred had done things in the Marines that I knew not to ask him about.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

just like Green Berets, you'd think from the number of those claiming to have been Green Berets in Nam that they made up the majority of folks fighting over there.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I know one. He is a good friend. He was a marine sniper and is not a sheriff’s deputy and that departments shooter. He has never once discussed his military time or deployments around me.

I was privileged to meet and talk with Carlos Hathcock at his home back in '83, and some years later, as an LEO, attended a 3 week FBI sponsored Scout/Sniper school at Camp Shelby with a group of guys from the 11th Special Forces.

I meet 2 snipers and both of them were bat-shucks-crazy That's pretty much a requirement for snipers.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Met one from the corp that was legit even wrote some books on shooting! Cant remember his name though. Usually meet the seal/spec ops guys! LOL The "Marine Sniper" that I met yesterday told me that with subsonic ammo, my 22 bullets should "be nearly done dropping" at 200 yards so only go up one more click for shooting at 300. I bet he was a sniper teacher at sniper school. Ive got some subsonic 22lr that are so weak they wont cycle through a semi auto. Im not saying they wouldnt kill somebody if you hit them just right, but I could also see them bouncing off a good field jacket. Probably wouldnt pierce a skull at 300yds Of topic but as an interesting FYI. I have talked extensively to a guy who uses noting but subsonic 22lr and even SS shorts to shoot wild hogs in the head at a feeder. He says the lower velocity penetrates the skull much better because the hyper stuff just shatters on impact or glances off.

That would make some sense RH. African professional hunters have long known that long heavy bullets at moderate velocities penetrate deeper and stay on track through the target better. 2200 - 2400 FPS seems to be the sweet spot.

Most calling themselves snipers were actually designated marksman or SDM. Lots of those in the sandbox. Thats the guy with the M14 of Mk 12
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I don't know any, but I myself was a delta force, seal team 7, marine marsoc, and green beret sniper and I served with Chris Kyle and John Rambo.
Get some.
Cept I never talk about it.

He’s out now and resides in Alaska.
The only one I've met lives in Alaska too.
