You know it must be real tough trying to keep everyone scared to death of the virus and the economy shut down at the same time. Picking wearing the masks, to stop the spread, as lynch pin on all this is a big mistake by the libs if you look at it logically. Cant be both. It either works or it doesnt, there's no grey area. They just need to decide. Full open economy or nobody acting like sheeple and wearing masks. Either is fine for me.

How would we know if mask work? There's a percentage of the population that's looking for every excuse not to wear one. We'll never have a true measure of effectiveness.

That's ok. It will match up with the accuracy of the death toll #s.

You know, it's almost like they need it to continue to spread. Old guidance was 14 days after no fever unmedicated and symptoms subside. You should be able to get back to work sooner under these new rules. Article is currently posted on Fox. I'm honestly just sick of all the changing information which I honestly feel is being intentionally spread to muddy the waters.

It came a little late to be of any help to me. I went back to work Friday. But that's after I waited 3 days for my results.

Son ended up having 5 retests over 3 weeks before he finally pulled a negative last Friday. Glad you're over it and back to work thumbup

You know...I went to the ABC store the other day and they had a sign on the door stating "If you appear to be under the age of 30, please have your ID ready", but they also had a sign up requiring masks. I begrudgingly wore my mask. I also had a baseball cap and sunglasses on and didn't bother to remove either. They never checked my ID or anything. I could have been 15yrs old and they'd have never known the difference.

Kids these days could be having a field day with this mask deal.

I wear camo when I hunt. Is it completely effective? No. But I feel that it helps. I'm a pretty good size guy and wearing a mask can be miserable, but if it can possibly help me and help us get back to some normalcy in our lives I'm willing to wear it.

13A-11-9 state of Alabama law says its illegal to wear a face mask in public places.

I have one of those sun shields you wear while outside with a skull printed on it. If I feel like wearing a mask, I wear that more for shock value than anything else. I had it on with a ball cap and sunglasses when I went into Publix. I bought a 12 pack and the cashier never asked for any form of ID

I'm not thanking anyone for acting irrationally and putting faith in constantly changing government mandates. I'm not thanking anyone for trying to sell me "the new normal" or for promoting the idea that they know what's better for me than I do. I won't say a word to anyone who chooses to wear a mask and if they are really concerned with their health they'll extend me the same courtesy when they see me without one.

That paper was published in 2010 and is hardly relevant to the argument here. They sprayed aerosols directly onto the mask to see what collected on the mannequin. The argument for masks is for everyone to wear them so they will collect and significantly reduce the spread of aerosols from an infected person. People could be asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic spreading the virus. Why not play it safe and nip this in the bud?

We are the only advanced country in the world still significantly struggling with this virus. I don't see why so many are refusing to try and help resolve the issue. This is not a world wide sponsored hoax targeted on removing our president from power.

People keep saying if masks work why do we not just open up the country and have everyone wear them? People will still refuse to wear them and make up bogus health reasons and other arguments why they cant wear a simple mask inside a store for 10 minutes. If we could somehow make this a reality that would be great but anytime there is a stricter mandate all the people complaining about snowflakes happen to turn into the biggest snowflakes.

I'm not a lawyer and I may have weak googling skills ...
But, apparently during a declared state public health emergency Alabama Code "appears" to say otherwise.

31‐9‐13. Orders, rules, and regulations of Governor ‐‐ Effect; distribution.
All orders, rules, and regulations promulgated by the Governor as authorized by this article shall have the full
force and effect of law when a copy thereof is filed in the office of the Secretary of State. All existing laws,
ordinances, rules, and regulations or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this article or of any order,
rule, or regulation issued under the authority of this article, shall be suspended during the period of time and to
the extent that such inconsistency exists.

Kind of what I figured. I didn't say it was legal or illegal. I was wearing one before the public health orders were issued because of the anecdotal evidence and the research results that I had read.

Titles 22 and 31 of the Alabama Code appear to have some relevant information if you are interested in reading about the public health orders during a declared public health emergency.
