I wear one on elevators and in stores.
Have since April.
And yes it sucks.
But I don't have a problem with wearing one in those circumstances.

If masks work as good as we are being told, at defeating the spread of the virus, then there is no reason to keep anything closed down and we should just all wear masks and go back to 100% normal full time activities. If we cannot wear masks and go back to 100% normal, then that right there is proof that they do not work and we can stop all this BS about needing to wear them to stop the spread. The fact is, they either work like we are being told they do or they do not work, which one is it???????? You know it must be real tough trying to keep everyone scared to death of the virus and the economy shut down at the same time. Picking wearing the masks, to stop the spread, as lynch pin on all this is a big mistake by the libs if you look at it logically. Cant be both. It either works or it doesnt, there's no grey area. They just need to decide. Full open economy or nobody acting like sheeple and wearing masks. Either is fine for me.

Hey, Metalmuncher, did you see the good news on Fox this morning. CDC came out with new guidance today and said no need to take retest to prove negative before coming out of isolation, cause that is just the waste of a valuable test, just quarantine for 10 days after you first show symptoms or 24 hrs after you have not had a fever without meds. You know, it's almost like they need it to continue to spread. Old guidance was 14 days after no fever unmedicated and symptoms subside. You should be able to get back to work sooner under these new rules. Article is currently posted on Fox. I'm honestly just sick of all the changing information which I honestly feel is being intentionally spread to muddy the waters.

How would we know if mask work? There's a percentage of the population that's looking for every excuse not to wear one. We'll never have a true measure of effectiveness.

I don't like wearing one and don't want to wear one. But, I have been wearing one were required for the last month or so. It doesn't hurt me to wear it. I don't wear one outside, but in stores or restaurants when I am not at a table, I will wear one,

I won’t wear a mask in public. I will wear a neck gaiter which is just as useless, when illegally required. Hazmat or contamination suits are about the only way to actually protect you for such a virus. If it was as deadly and contagious as we are to believe we would all be dead or terribly ill by now

Look at Iran, Turkey Saudi Arabia India etc whose women wear face coverings everyday, all day. Seams to be spreading just fine.

Or Californistan. Lots of new cases out there and they've been on the mask kick for months and also some of the most draconian shutdown measures of any state in the US.

I don't see an issue with the Prez leading by example encouraging folks to wear masks, the problem I think everyone has with the ordeal is that we are being ORDERED to wear one illegally. Governors do not have the authority to unilaterally generate, issue laws, and assign corresponding penalties for noncompliance. there are(and have been for quite some time) some pretty dangerous precedence being set all over the country

Actually Southern Research Institute in Birmingham has a paper they published about the effectiveness of masks. An N95 is about 90% effective, a surgical mask is about 33%, a bandana is around 11, and a dust mask is 6. Of note, the paper went on to conclude the use of masks gives people a false sense of security.

I actually had a guy tell me he wears a mask for my protection. He didn't like it when I informed him my protection was my responsibility, not his!!

It came a little late to be of any help to me. I went back to work Friday. But that's after I waited 3 days for my results.

Local drunk guy here told me that the mask makes it easier to be drunk in public. That actually made sense.
