As I stated in another Covid thread, my brother and sister and 13 other people shared a large vacation house for a weekend and all of them except one got COVID and all had fever and other symptoms. The one that didn't get it had already recovered from it earlier this year. Only one of them reported loss of smell and taste. One female in her mid 80s and a COPD sufferer was hospitalized for pneumonia in both lungs but was out in a few days. All are starting to feel better but tired (just shy of 3 weeks from symptom onset) and are still testing positive. All say they were sicker than they have ever been. Best we can tell, my brother and his wife picked it up from their pastor at church on their first in person church service since all this started.
My brother was around my elderly (and 2 time cancer survivor) mother for less than an hour the day before he started showing symptoms. She did not contract it (Thank the Lord). I got tested 2 weeks after being around her every day since and I am negative.
From what I have found, there are 2 primary strains going around. One is more lethal and the other is more contageous. Last numbers I heard were that some 75% of new cases are the more contageous but less lethal strain.
No opinion here either way but these are the facts of the people I know that have had it.

To answer your question, I think there’s something yet unknown about what makes it contagious in terms of who is susceptible. There’s something to it in my opinion, but clearly there are many people unaffected. I’m hoping they gain some insight over the next few months that allow these overly restrictive measures to go away. Bingo The Chinese Commies made it to be as virulent and insidious as possible. There is a Nobel scientist who says the Kung Flu has DNA from both the bat and the pangolin.

There is a Nobel scientist who says the Kung Flu has DNA from both the bat and the pangolin. I've read that but I do know here they've been testing blood types and genetics as another variable. Supposedly anywhere from 3 to 30 plus different strains too? Supposedly of 3 strains theory the Italian is the most deadly and the Wuhan strain the least deadly.

For every "super spreader" story, there's the other side. My son tested positive almost 20 days ago. His roomate, girlfriend, teammates, workout partners, and everyone at the place where he works 5 days a week have all tested negative. Probably 30-40 people that have been in close contact with him. None have symptoms and all that have gone for tests have tested negative. Has no clue where he got it and he's been careful. Light fever for a day and a half, headache for about 4 hrs after fever broke and a little sinus congestion with it. All symptoms gone completely after the 4th day. He's got to get a negative before he can go back to work. He personally now accounts for 4 of the listed cased in AL since he tested positive originally and positive on 3 additional re-tests trying to get a negative. Every test is stand alone and reported seperately into the totals so keep that in mind when you are looking at the total cases listed. Like I said, he's only one person but accounts for 4 of the positives in the AL total.
Other side is I personally know of a family that rented a beach house this last week and one came down sick with a fever the 4th day of the trip. All 8 of the occupants ended up getting it with the other 7 coming down with the fever within 3-6 days after the first showed symptoms. Higher fever and congestion/cough but none say they've had a really bad time with it and all appear to be getting over it in 4-8 days from onset of first symptoms. Crazy how different all the cases and symptoms are.

I’ve been sick since we got back from the beach Sunday. The worst headache I’ve ever had and won’t go away, body aches, and very nauseous. Tested negative Wednesday. Still feel god awful today with diarrhea and a stomachache with everything else. 2 people have tested positive for it in my shop this week. I went and got tested again after work today. If my stomach doesn’t let up some I’ll be at the er later on. Dang dude hang in there.

Sounds like typical symptoms after a beach trip... blazing sun, salt and sand blowing, long days, long nights with little sleep, a little drinking, packing, unpacking, beach traffic then the long ride drive back.

i'm beginning to think this is not a coronavirus - it's not behaving as one ... if you believe the news, apparently it can travel beyond 15 ft (so the 6 ft distancing won't work), it can hang in the air much longer, and can get caught up/spread in enclosed rooms/HVAC vents/filters ... it's the summer - this thing should have died by now, but it's still spiking - ???
not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here - but something's not adding up It is not spiking. It is dying a slower death than it should have, given the continued overreactive distancing and such (especially in areas like ours that are drastically different than the big cities from a population, daily proximity standpoint). The death trend is the true indicator of the virus’s status. If we would just let herd immunity do its thing like it has in Sweden, Italy, NYC, New Jersey, etc....we could put a bow on this chit. Aint gonna happen though, too much money to be made soon enough from vaccinations for the sheeple!!! Gotta keep it alive as long as we can!!!

I’m hoping they gain some insight over the next few months that allow these overly restrictive measures to go away. Already possessed T-cell immunity in much of the population, which led to lots of folks not even having to fight the virus and develop antibodies, is the leading, emerging research topic for this issue. Pretty fascinating stuff. God’s perfectly designed human immune system was not as caught off guard as man was led to believe, as evidenced by the extremely low death counts compared to predictions (even though we are on the threshold of herd immunity as a nation and the virus is nearing elimination).
