Mine is an upright freezer my parents bought when we moved into the house I grew up in 1981. They gave it to me 10-12 years ago and have been through 3 chest freezers that died on them since.

The oldest appliance in my house was bought when I bought the house back 8 or so years ago.
My wifes grandfather has an oven in his house that has to be original to the house. I'm guessing the house was built in early to mid 70's.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

Probably my beer fridge down stairs at the house in Trussville. It's a Kenmore. A simple side by side. I think it's 22 years old. It homemade beer in there that is at least 12 years old. I had a bottle the other day and it was better than when I made it.

I have a kenmore fridge that is 21 years old. Still makes ice and the door dispenser still works. Ours is 28 - side by side, in door water and ice dispenser.

The washing machine thread got me thinking. How many years have you had your oldest household appliance? Saturday will be 26 years for our washing machine. Easy to remember as it was a wedding gift. Kenmore from Sears with no bells or whistles. It has survived two daughters and a lightening strike.
Probably jinxed myself now, but that $500 pair was money well spent. Don't expect that from a Kenmore again. The stuff they put out now is crap. I guess they weighed selling good appliances that lasted for years vs. putting out crap and crap won.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

It's a mute point, to discuss the best made appliances. They don't make any of them anymore.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

But why? Surely they understand people will spend good money for something that’s made well again...

GE fridge bought in feb '95. The simple washer and dryer i bought at the same time gave up the ghost 2 years ago. Believe they were magic chefs?

I have an old Hotpoint fridge I've had 35 years . I bought it used , it's a 1960 model . Still going strong at age 60 , keeping stuff cold in the utility room.

I gave $125 for it and it was in great shape , but I thought I paid too much . Prolly best 125 bucks I ever spent.
